TENNIS

The Algarve boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year which enables Carvoeiro Clube de Ténis e Padel to offer its members excellent outdoor tennis facilities. You will find 8 Australian Blue Hard courts and 2 artificial grass courts. The Club´s professional, carefully selected coaches provide excellent sessions for all levels whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned professional. The tennis coaches will assist you in improving your match play, technique and skill. We offer Social and Federated tournaments throughout the year as well as private and group lessons to help strengthen your game.

Our coaches are here to provide top-grade training for all levels, whether you are just starting to learn how to play or if you want to improve your skills to compete in tournaments.

Daren Quilty

Performance coach who has coached several national and international players including former British number 2 James Ward and played at satellite level himself. He enjoys teaching all aspects of tennis and all categories: adults, juniors, singles, doubles, groups, and individuals.

Paulo Bitoque

Paulo started teaching tennis lessons at 18 in 1989 at Centro de Ténis de Faro beginners later, he started training at Clube de Ténis de Tavira for 3 years until 1996. He’s been training at Carvoeiro Clube de Ténis e Padel for 22 years as a beginner’s coach and group lessons. He’s a referee at the Portuguese Tennis Federation of level 3 and a level 2 coach.

Nabil Lababedi

Performance and adult development coach and ex junior world ranking of 700. Nabil competed in ATP tour-level events and was the sparring partner for the British federation cup team. He’s a certified LTA (the lawn tennis association) and PTR (professional tennis registry) coach. He enjoys coaching all levels.

Nelson Raposo

Beginners and intermediate coach and tennis player of over 20 years. Nelson approaches training by observation, diagnosis, and prescription with plenty of technical knowledge, with a short, clear, and precise style. He also enjoys coaching social and recreational players.

Christian Brockman

Christian has been coaching at CCTP since 2008. He speaks English, German, Portuguese and Swedish. He enjoys teaching all levels, from kids to adults, and his speciality is teaching the doubles game.

Jake Armstrong

Jake has lived in the Algarve for 15 years, and speaks English and Portuguese. He has worked at  CCTP since 2021 and enjoys teaching all age groups, one on one lessons and groups.
